  3. 29th Annual Pea Ridge Mule Jump

  4. This unique event, held in the friendly community of Pea Ridge, has accommodated initial attendees in the hundreds and last year's attendees numbered more than 6,000! The 29th Annual Pea Ridge Mule Jump will host close to 100 vendors who will share their food and beverage options, along with crafts and special Ozark-specific gift selections. Music will again be a part of the entertainment, and visitors will enjoy the special talents of the Ridge Rockers while they tour the vendor offerings. Of course, the primary "draw" is the Jump itself. With 40+ mules participating this year, there will be a full slate of mules for the competition for more than $4,000 in prize money. Realize, too, that mules do not like to jump! That fact alone creates an atmosphere ripe with laughter as the handlers work to coax their mules over the burlap barriers, some as high as 6.5 feet!

Where: 629 Weston St, Pea Ridge, AR

Cost: $5.00 for adults, $2.00 for ages 6-12, and 5 years old and under are free.

  9. Bentonville Skate Park Celebration

  10. The skate park in Memorial Park just underwent a natural state-themed transformation with the installation of new artwork. A celebration to showcase the new art will take place on October 12th at the Skate Park at 6:00 p.m. and will feature a food truck, DJ, and giveaways. Skaters and BMXers from around the region are invited to enjoy the new artwork at the park.

As a nod to Northwest Arkansas's natural beauty, The Mars Agency worked with students in the Bentonville High School Ignite Program to create a piece of public art to be painted on the skate park's concrete ramps and bowls. The design resembles a lush riverside setting, complete with faux fish, eddies, foliage, and sandbars. The beautification of the park with public art represents the continuation of a trend that is sweeping Northwest Arkansas to reinvent public spaces with large-scale artwork through dynamic collaboration. This project is made possible by Bentonville Parks and Recreation, The Mars Agency, Bentonville School's Ignite program, BikeNWA, and Runway Group.
