Hammock Station Opening on Rogers' Bike Trail
When you need a break from a long drive, you stop and refuel; you stretch your legs, have a drink and use the bathroom. Why not give cyclists, runners and walkers the same opportunity? That was the thought behind building a hammock rest stop at the Mercy Trailhead on the Razorback Greenway, The new Equip Sling Station is located behind Mercy Hospital in Rogers, next to the trail's bathrooms and parking lot. Inspired and funded by Denovo Brands - maker of Equip hammocks and other outdoor products - the Sling Station will celebrate its grand opening on none other than National Hammock Day July 22, 2017.
Cyclists and others using the trail will be able to stuff hammocks in their backpacks and then easily hang them on the sling station's series of multi-level columns. The various column heights - some tall, some short - with triangular canopy shades overhead and the trail's surrounding trees all give the sling station a little bit of a Swiss Robinson Family Treehouse feel when filled with hammocks. "We wanted to give back to the Community," says Denovo Brands President Steve Perry. "This is the perfect spot for people using the trail to stop and have a break."
The ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening will take place on the Equip Sling Station site on July 22 from 9:00 am - 1:00pm, with the ribbon cutting at 10:30am
