To many of us, child abuse may seem like a distant problem. Unfortunately, it's a problem that hits close to home. Did you know that in 2016 the Arkansas Division of Children and Family Services (DCFS) found that more than 10,000 children were victims of maltreatment?

FamilyLifeNWA.com wants to bring awareness to this issue and use this time to acknowledge those in our community who are working to prevent child abuse and those who are helping to better the lives of its victims.

Keep checking back. We'll be updating our site regularly this month with stories about some of our local organizations that are making a difference, including Saving Grace, the Northwest Arkansas Children's Shelter and more.

If you know of an individual or organization making a difference in this area, let us know. You can also share your thoughts in our forum section.
